Demarcus Cousins May Have Eligibility Issues
Basketball phenom DeMarcus Cousins has been held out of the LeFlore Rattlers' last three games while school officials attempt to confirm that there are no issues with his eligibility. Cousins, a 6-foot-10 forward who is rated among the top juniors in the country and is being heavily recruited by Louisville, transferred to LeFlore from the Birmingham area this school year.
LeFlore coach Otis Hughley said Cousins' move to Mobile has been confirmed as a bona fide move, but school officials in Birmingham have raised questions about his standing before the transfer. Hughley said he expects Cousins to be back on the floor soon. "All we have to do is make sure he's in good standing from one (school) system to another," Hughley said. "And just to make sure that's the case, we want it in writing." In two games with the Rattlers, Cousins scored 19 points in a win over Vigor and 27 in a win over McGill-Toolen.

Scotty Hopson Still Committed to Mississippi State - Well Sort of!
Except for dismal performance agains Darius Mille, Scotty Hopson is off to a good start in his senior season. But there still remains a cloud over his head from his hesitation to sign with Mississippi State during the early sigining period, and the rumors abounding that he is looking for a new school. When asked abotu all of this he answered to a reporter "I'm still committed to Mississippi State".
When the reporter asked him how firm his commitment was since he refused to sign with Mississippi State during the weeklong November period, Hopson was quoted as replying with "It's firm. It's firm enough."
Yet according to all outside sources he has had some folks on his behalf contact other universities to see if there is still interest in him. According to the article Hopson said that he will entertain recruiting pitches from other schools. How is that sonce he is committed to Mississippi State? He also said that Kentucky has made its interest known. When asked about UK, Hopson responded with something like "maybe in the mix. I can't say right now." Huh?
Scotty, look, either you are committed to Mississippi State or not. which is it? We think he is satrting to realize that how he and his family have handled this entire situation leaves a little to be desired. Its like they're out shopping for a better deal but don't want to walk away from Mississippi State because what if they can't find one? He needs to make up his mind and move on. Either he's lookign or he's not.
